25 March 1958: Elvis Presley gets a GI haircut, courtesy of his Uncle Sam at the Ft. Chaffee, Ark., Reception Station.

ILLUSTRATIONS: (1) Elvis and other recruits are sworn into the army at Ft. Chaffee. (2) Elvis gets his first GI haircut. (3) Elvis and other recruits are checked out before being issued uniforms. (4) Elvis and other recruits lug their newly issued clothing to their Ft. Chaffee barracks. (5) Elvis polishes shoes while other recruits relax in their barracks.
