The exploits of the SAS were pretty impressive and the damage they did in that one single raid shows how well those tactics worked.

US Army Rangers performed similar missions in that time frame and AO.

Ranger Ray O’Dell told me of a raid where the Rangers ran twenty miles evading Germans afterwards! CW5 Jack Cardwell
