'Take it easy' is an oft quoted fare thee well until we see each other again :-)
1. Many of us remember the events of September 11, 2001 all-too-clearly.
2. I pray for peace this weekend and that all plans by terrorists to launch an attack are thwarted.
3. 'At ease' is a military posture which is more regulated than the command to 'rest' :-)
4. I expect those US citizens, green card holders and SIV applicants hiding in Afghanistan are not overly comfortable. I hope and pray that most will be rescued from their predicament.
5. Many are not taking it easy today. For those who are endangered I pray they will each be released.

Good Friday, September 10, 2021 morning my friend Lt Col Charlie Brown - 'Ease Day'

Quotes:
1. Augustine of Hippo 'Thou hast made us for thyself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it finds its rest in thee.' Augustine of Hippo, Confessions
2. John Lubbock 'Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky'
3. Joseph Joubert 'Tenderness is the rest of passion.'

Scriptures
a. Psalm 23:1-4 ‘‘The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths.’
b. Hebrews 4:1-3 'Therefore, while the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us fear lest any of you should seem to have failed to reach it. For good news came to us just as to them'
c. 2 Corinthians 13:11-13 'Aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you. Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the saints greet you.'
d. Philippians 4:6-7 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God,'
e. John 16:33 'I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.'
f. Matthew 5:9 ESV Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
LORD I pray that YOU renew the mind of each adopted son and daughter who reads this prayer or hears it, through the washing of YOUR Word. By YOUR grace you refresh each of us through rest and sustenance. I pray LORD that YOU cleanse each of YOU adopted sons and daughters of any impurity which inhibits YOUR love from flowing through us. I pray that YOUR light shines through each of when we enter a room, home, mode of common transportation. YOU protect us from the enemy’s schemes and allow us to explore within the boundaries YOU set for each of us. 'Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.' '[Romans 12:2 ESV]
I lift the situation in Kabul, Afghanistan and each person who provided support to the US, UK, Canadian, and other forces as well as their family members to YOU LORD. I pray that YOU motivate the Biden administration officials and President Biden to do all they can to extricate the individuals and families from their peril. I pray that the vast majority will be able to leave Afghanistan and relocate safely in USA, UK, Canada or elsewhere. ‘Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.” [Psalm 83:3-4 ESV]
I lift deployed service members and other deployed individuals, their family members, and others who depend on them to YOU LORD. I pray that you bless the deployed individuals with discernment and ability to rest sufficiently to perform their missions and duties alert and focused well. I pray they are each equipped well and technically knowledgeable and motivated to perform their duties. I pray for safety, security and good health for each of the family members of the deployed service members. I pray that YOU enable and motivate the deployed service members to write letters to their family – especially for spouses and young children. 'He will turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers.' [Malachi 4:6 ESV]
I lift disabled veterans, disabled servicemen, disabled policemen and women, disabled firefighters, disabled children, disabled adult family members and their family members to YOU LORD. I pray that YOU bless each one with a large measure of endurance and hope. I pray that YOU guide the mind and hands of each one throughout their care and at home. I pray that YOU guide the mind and hands of each person treating, ministering to, preparing for surgery, operating on, assisting recovery for, and transporting to and from appointments. ‘Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.’ [Psalm 23:4-5 ESV]
As autumn is beginning, I pray that YOU rejuvenate the soul and bring hope to the grieving individuals who have seen brothers and sisters die, those who have been diagnosed with serious diseases, and the depressed and those who love and care for them. I thank YOU for transforming us by renewing our mind. Help each of us to encourage those who need a demonstration of love and compassion. 'Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.’ [Philippians 4:8-9 ESV]

My friend and brother-in-Christ SSG Samuel Kermon, personal peace is not related to circumstances. I have felt the greatest peace in extreme turmoil.

LTC Stephen F. indeed, my peace comes everyday. But so many don't have our Heavenly Father to rely on. Without him there is no peace just life as it comes.

Good morning and Happy Friday. We made it! Let us remember every one deployed today and those who are not returning home the way they went...
Sometimes you just have to sit back and take a breath, take a timeout. None of us can operate efficiently or lead well if we try to go at full speed all the time. Timeouts are necessary for resetting; breaks are required for refueling and reestablishing one's motivation and energy levels. Some people feel guilty when they take a needed break. But if you don't take care of yourself, you can't take care of your people or your family. Be at ease when you can and enjoy it.

I expect you regain energy, strength and feel refreshed many mornings after sleeping through the night. No doubt, those who rely on you for leadership, advice, and knowledge, appreciate your leadership, advice and calm nature especially when pressure is on. I pray dear LORD that each one of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who reads this prayer has our spiritual house in order and that we are not judgmental against our brothers and sister-in-Christ. I pray that you and I stand firm in faith and demonstrate love to each person we interact with. ‘Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love. [Ephesians 4:15-16 ESV], my sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.

Good R.E.D. Friday Morning “Band of Brothers & Sisters,” and all great connections from the Now sunny skies of the Greater Boston Area after a deluge of rain yesterday and mostly last night!!!

Let’s “Remember Everyone Deployed” around the world until they return home safely!

Today is: “Happy Friday & Ease Day!” Why Not? (My quote selections today are a bit humorous.)

"On Friday, I like to high five myself for getting through another week on little more than caffeine, will power, and inappropriate humor." — Nanea Hoffman

"Hands up if you're ready to do something you'll regret this weekend. Go forth! You have my blessing." — Florence Welch

"Although I understand that all days are equal with 24 hours each, most of us agree that Friday is the longest day of the week and Sunday the shortest." — D.S. Mixell

"I know each day is a gift, but where's the receipt for Mondays? I want to exchange it for another Friday" – Unknown

"Man was made at the end of the week's work when God was tired." – Mark Twain

"Friday is a day to finish your goals for the week. It is a day to celebrate that which you set out to accomplish at the beginning of the week. Well done." — Byron Pulsifer

...And how about this?

“Leaders need to take a ‘timeout’ as well and be at ‘ease’ to regain their energy and strength – refresh the batteries, because there is another mission to be won tomorrow, and the next day, and the next!” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs
