RP Members, Connections, and Friends I believe there are some really outrageous nicknames that have been handed out to some of you when you served in the Military. Lets' get them out there and don't be embarrased. Please share! This is one of those Posts that just keep giving over time. RP Members keep adding your nicknames.
Don't leave us hanging - share the story behind the nickname too!!
One of my many was: "Burly" and when I was a PFC/E-3 it was "Horse Collar!" Others I can't repeat from Basic Training - use your imagination!

Interesting enough, my dad for his PhD thesis pretty much invented the jet fuel as we know it now. Apparently jets would spontaneously explode and he found the cause and that was his PhD. Since it was a thesis he couldn't get a patent/copyright etc.

My call sign was given by my Platoon, Stubby. Vietnam 1968. As a freshly minted 2nd LT. and my first day in the field, my platoon Sgt. mentioned I needed a call sign. I then asked the platoon to give me a call sign, after several days of consideration, they decided to call me Stubby, for two reasons, I was the shortest man (5'6") in the Platoon, and the FOB was cut out of a hill top and there were many tree roots exposed, and always at a run when the CO called, I would catch my toe on a tree root and stub my toe, therefore, Stubby. Made sense to me :-)

Ironlady was my call sign. They also called me Major Mom for a while. And probably a few other things behind my back...

Hojo. Weird seems like forever ago. Not even sure who gave it to me or when it started.
I worked in NDI and we did a lot of x-raying on F-15s. We had a cart that held all of our x-ray equipment. We made magnet signs to stick on it when we went out that had Coors Light X-Ray Team on them.
