What is your take on this?
I wouldn't do it because who knows what their ultimate agenda is. If they're willing to give you a tax credit for $2000 to accomplish their agenda, it must be worth it.

Holy Cow! I read the article, then the comments, then followed that to the actual text of the bill. This is no tax credit, folks. This is a gun ban with a tax credit on the first page, presumably in hopes that you won't read pages 2-10, which go on to define darn near any semi-automatic rifle as an "assault weapon".

@tsgt hunter Logan there is one in Pasadena but it's like going into a cave it's so dark. The best one I use is in South Houston. Here's the web site.

Spend at least 50 rounds in each, various positions and stances, including quick draw, so you can get the feel and test if they are going to have issues when needed most.

TSgt Hunter Logan there are two in Corpus that are worth a visit if you're down this way. The Sharp Shooter http://thesharpshooter.com/ and Nichols gun shop http://www.nichols-guns.com/ . Both are pretty good. Nichols is the less crowded of the two. Don't be alarmed by the "Drugs and Guns" slogan that Nichols has...it was a failing pharmacy until they decided to expand into the firearms business.

This is nothing but a weapons ban dressed up as a tax benefit.
Also, what makes a firearm an "Assault Weapon"? Since I only use my firearms to protect my family, technically I have "Defense Weapons".
My fork is making me fat. Can I now refer to it as a "Fattening Implement" and lobby for bans and tax credits?
