Good morning Col Burroughs and Posse on this first Sunday in 2021. It's still raining really hard here.
Take a break. We all need to do that periodically. When I would get frustrated with something I was working on for my squadron, my superintendent would tell me to "put it aside, take a break, and let it marinate." What he was getting at was that letting something alone for a while often allows you to come back to it with a fresh view. I found I could sort out what was wrong pretty quickly and get it fixed. When I am working on Red Cross curriculum, I still follow his advice. When it isn't going well or it seems to be a "slog" I take a break and do something else for a bit. It almost always works. Do you have a quick break" you use as a "reset"? (Mine includes coffee of course)

I expect that you have learned the value of taking a break from physical and mental exertion as you matured in age as well as spiritually. Hopefully you demonstrate compassion to those who perform labor for you including your family members by encouraging them to rest sufficiently and relax periodically without guilt. 'And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ' [Philippians 1:9-11 ESV] my sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.

I lift the adopted sons and daughters who are prone to worry and get anxious about what the future has in store for them and those they love, depend upon and who depend upon them to YOU. I pray that YOU remind each that YOU are in complete control of their lives and YOUR love covers them and protects them. ‘Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.’ Matthew 6:31-34 ESV]
I pray for a peaceful and orderly night for each of the deployed service members, the police forces and agents, the EMT personnel and Emergency Room physicians, nurses and technicians. Give each wisdom and endurance to do what needs to be done. I pray for their family members and others that love them that YOU pour out a large measure of love to each. ‘There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. We love because he first loved us. [1 John 4: 18-19 ESV]
LORD I pray that YOU bless those earnestly praying for this nation and their own nation in these challenging times. I pray for the peace of Jerusalem and peace in the streets of the major cities and towns which have been ravaged by looting and rioting in the past months. I pray YOU motivate those with resources to come alongside those ravaged by wanton destruction 'Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 ESV
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Sunday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Monday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

MSgt Paul Connors - That is a Tamron 150-600 F5-6.5. I really need to use a tripod with it because it is heavy, but most of the time out in the field, there's no time to set up the tripod, so I take my chances.
The body is a Canon T7.

COL Mikel Burroughs good read/share: for the Colonel's Motivational Quotes of the Day. Where the mighty American Bald Eagles roam in the mighty MOUNTAINS OF CASTLE ROCK, COLORADO AMONG THEIR EAGLES-NEST. I know the view must be MAGNIFICENT on this day January 3, 2021 as you might glance upon the mighty snow capped mountains headed into the month of February. As you know I would respond a lot throughout the week, but I am full-time DOD employee doing contracts for the Defense Contracting Management Agency. It is good to have some time on the weekend before I start my running around to respond my friend.

Today's theme is "Take a Break Day" I quote, “Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes… including you.” — Anne Lamott

Great Awesome Life tip for today's message and quotes SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL - thank you my friend, now don't forget to take that break Joe...

“Sometimes as an individual or as a leader you need to just ‘STOP’ and take a break. Taking breaks refreshes the mind, replenishes your mental resources, and helps you become more creative. I refer to taking a break as time for ‘Power Nap!” May you find the time today and on certain days of the week to take break and recharge yourself; may you always treat taking a break as a positive action for your health and well-being; may your mind, body, and soul be opened to grace, goodness, peace, forgiveness, and a bountiful life of purpose; and keep your family safe, secure, happy, and healthy. Time to take a break. Nap time.” – COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs
