Good morning Col Burroughs and Posse. We now live in a world ever more filled with distractions. TV, internet, constant noise, phones, texts, emails, etc. Sometimes it is a wonder that anything gets accomplished. It takes work and discipline to stay focused. Don't lose your way. Turn off what you cannot ignore when you have a project or deadline to meet. We need to do this for relationships as well; focus on the person, let all the other stuff go. Spending time with someone doesn't mean being just being in the same place with your attention elsewhere. I see it all the time.
One of the kids in my teen group said: the way I get my parents to listen to me is to turn off the router (i.e. disconnect the internet) and then they come find me so I have a chance to talk to them. This is what life is like now for some. Don't be distracted; focus on the important things!

Here is a posting I was reading of the dangers of getting children a cell phone; The internet can be a great tool for education and communication, but it can also be a dangerous place. Giving your child a smartphone means giving them access to the internet and social media platforms. This could make them more susceptible to internet predators and cyberbullying. Other threats include age-inappropriate content, hate speech, and scams.

Teens with a cellphone and set of car keys deal can represent another safety concern: talking and driving. Researchers have found that cell-phone use can increase the odds of being in an auto accident by four times — a risk comparable to that of driving impaired, according to the American Psychological Association. Further, nearly a third of all traffic accidents involve drivers who are texting or talking on a phone, according to data published in 2015 by the National Safety Council.

SP5 David Stafford - David, my wife and I are also in the same boat. The only time we go out is for groceries and our medical appointments. I exchanged both our two cars for two that have connect-ability to our cars, hands free. You know what the Murphy's law is all about, better safe than sorry!

I hope your focus on your responsibilities, support for those you lead in organizations, business, and family is well prioritized. I pray that you and I routinely submit our plans, hopes and dreams to the LORD. I expect that you are periodically are distracted by loved ones – especially young children who desire attention from us which is a demonstration of love. 'In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets.' [Matthew 7:12 ESV], my sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.

Minor distractions including time spent on hobbies, resting and relaxing, listening to music, reading and hopefully time spent playfully humor and noble and great ways to pass time with loved ones.
I pray that the LORD blesses each of one of us with an increase of compassion, kindness and goodness. Open our eyes to see the harvest of souls that YOU want us to pray for, encourage and give hope to. ‘always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.’ [1 Peter 3:15b-16 ESV]
I pray for the families cooped up in lock down especially those who are confused and scared about the COVID-risk. LORD open their eyes to the truth and set them free from shackles of confusion and deliberate deception. YOUR freedom sets people free. 'For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For the whole law is fulfilled in one word.' [Galatians 5:13-14 ESV]
I lift those individuals and families struggling tonight, those at serious risk of suicide, and those people suffering from mental illness and injury including PTSD to YOU LORD. I pray that YOU bless each with hope in YOU enough to survive and thrive this night. I pray YOU guide many to safety tonight – especially families with young children. Motivate abled bodied people to help those less fortunate that themselves. 'I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Let those of us who are mature think this way, and if in anything you think otherwise.' [Philippians 3:14-15]
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Tuesday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Wednesday morning.

Good “Tuesday” Morning “Burroughs’ Posse Leader from the slightly foggy clime of Fort Myers on this Tuesday... Our Temperature is currently a mild 70° and headed up to about 81° this afternoon... Love this Florida weather!!! I will tell you that this weather is not a distraction! I am just absorbing it all! LOL! ... Working my IT shift today, so I'll be on and off most of the day...

“Distraction Day!” Why Not?

1) "By prevailing over all obstacles and distractions, one may unfailingly arrive at his chosen goal or destination." - Christopher Columbus

2) "What sets disciplined people apart? - The capacity to get past distractions. Focus on the task at hand." - Bill Parcells

3) "An addiction to distraction is the end of your creative production." - Robin Sharma

4) "Don't be distracted by criticism. Remember ~ the only taste of success some people have is when they take a bite out of you." - Zig Ziglar

“When leaders become distracted, they typically get preoccupied and their priorities become disoriented. Leaders have to control their focus!” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

Great quotes today my friend...Thanks for keeping me straight again today Sgt (Join to see) - it is always appreciated...

“There are many distractions in our world today. Those distractions can take us off course or even lead to a heavy mind. ‘Distractions are easy to find and hard to leave.’ — Unknown Author. May you be focused on the target, whether it’s a dream or objective you’ve set for yourself. In some cases, it may be recovery or wellness that is your goal, but distractions from all around can send you in all different directions. Leaders need to stay focused even with all the distractions they will face on a day-to-day basis. May you be the motivator and not the distraction; may your mind, body, and soul be opened to grace, goodness, peace, forgiveness, and a continued bountiful life of purpose; and keep your family safe, secure, happy, and healthy. ‘Be about actions, not distractions.’ — Unknown Author” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs
