Good morning Col Burroughs and Posse. We've made it to Thursday.
Waiting to hear from my doctor about some test results she isn't going to be happy with...we will see what the next steps are. Fortunately, none of this is fatal, LOL
I teach resiliency and mind-body skills. What I've found is that when I attach the skill to a visual image, people tend to remember it much better and longer. That's true for both adults and children; the skills I make up visual names for they seem to remember and use...wave breath, painting rainbows, starfish breathing...all of these have other names but none of clients seem to be able to remember them.
When I counseled ESOL students, I used lots of pictures because many of my students had limited literacy skills in any language and I wanted to make sure I could get the point across correctly.
And my own name is one of those "visual images" for most Americans; they recognize Charlie Brown and seem to have little trouble recalling my name.

I pray that YOU open the windows of heaven for the homeless families, homeless veterans, widows, widowers, street children and each other person who is in desperate need of sustenance, safe place to live, love and respect. I pray that YOU pour out a large measure of love for each one and YOU motivate people to show respect by demonstration of action to each individual in desperate need. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality. [Romans 12:10-13 ESV]
I pray for guidance, discernment and a quest to learn for parents, guardians, and others devoted to caring for children and seeking the best for each child. LORD I pray that YOU guide the minds of each one in terms of how best to educate their children – home school, private school or public school. I pray that YOU open the best door for each one and close all others. ‘Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. “For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.’ Matthew 7:7-8 ESV]
As far as those foolish leaders in government, business, & industry; managers, engineers and designers who are conceited, seeking their own glory, and/or corrupt in principles and actions, I pray YOU thwart their plans. If their motivation is for evil, I pray that the planned evil will fall on their own heads. ‘And his mercy is for those who fear him from generation to generation. He has shown strength with his arm; he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts; he has brought down the mighty from their thrones and exalted those of humble estate; he has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent away empty.’ [Luke 1:50-53 ESV]
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Wednesday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Thursday morning.

LORD I lift the wise leaders in government, business, & industry; managers, engineers and designers; and anybody else faced with significant decisions which impact the lives of many to YOU. I pray for insight, discernment and motivation to evaluate second and third order effects of the decision choices. 'For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it?
