Is Mars considered to be in the "Goldilocks Zone". Just wondering, and if so how did Mars loose it's atmosphere if it had any to begin with?

SP5 (Join to see) - Earth is the only planet in our solar system's habitable zone. ... Mars, which is too far from the Sun to be in the habitable zone, once had flowing liquid water. Our robotic space missions there have found evidence of ancient lakes, and minerals that could only have formed in water.
Mars lost 99% of its atmosphere due to two things... 1st is the lack of a strong magnetosphere (probably happened over a few billion years). Since it has a weakened or no Magnetosphere, it is bombarded by ultraviolet rays that gradually depleted the atmosphere...again, over millions of years...
It is possible to terraform Mars and to build a stronger atmosphere, but it could take at least a 100 years or more to develop a breathable atmosphere, so for a period of time, humans would have to wear breathing gear outside of their sealed habitats...
