The “military-industrial complex” which was mobilized to produce so much military equipment and materiel in WWII that we overwhelmed the AXIS powers of Germany, Japan and Italy was transformed by liberals/peaceniks into a hobgoblin a generation later SP5 Mark Kuzinski.
As was said elsewhere, we fought in Korea until an armistice was reached and South Korea was not overrun. On the other hand, we abandoned South Vietnam after a half-hearted attempt at Vietnamization which proceeded on a timetable independent of the ARVN achieving any real operational capabilities to stand alone.
It is incredibly frustrating to fight a war which is not considered a war and with both hand tied behind your back.
Kudos to everybody who served in the Vietnam area of operations.

The left is the same today as it was then, but they are a bit more careful about what they say openly.

I have always had a problem with the anti draft movement to me it seems the "influential people" mentioned in the post were worried more about the educated and monied young people and not so much about the lower middle class who of course were the ones that shouldered the cost of the war those are my thoughts the draft had no effect on my life at the time,I enlisted.
