Thanks for sharing the video of the funeral of General of the Army Douglas MacArthur veteran of WWI, the Philippines insurrection, WWII and the Korean War.
He fulfilled his promise to return to the Philippines where he spent so much of his earlier military career. He was relived by former President Truman who did not want to take the war to China to engage the Red Chinese even though they were killing many USA service members.

LTC Stephen F. my friend, sentiments go out to Corps of Cadets, for he so loved them. To be quite frank the "DUTY HONOR COUNTRY" speech is one of the best IMHO in the military. To know you had to recite it and your a graduate at West Point gives me a warm heart my friend. FYI, I trained Cadets in 1994/1995 at range 3-Charlie (Claymore and M-203) during summer camp those years while stationed with the 10th Mountain Division. I looked at those statues of GOA MacArthur/ GOA Eisenhower many days along with Gen. Patton thinking of the honor/courage and bravery these fine Generals bestowed to a grateful nation. Great response well said and profoundly articulated.
