Thanks for reminding us SP5 Mark Kuzinski that the day after the unsuccessful raid, Secretary of Defense Melvin Laird disclosed the November 21 U.S. raid on the North Vietnamese prison camp at Son Tay, led by Army Colonel “Bull” Simons. Although no prisoners ere rescued, the fact that the raid took place so close to Hanoi that it forced the NVA to rethink their POW strategy and they abandoned the remote prison camps in favor of centralized POW facilities where OWS had a better chance of talking or at least seeing each other.
