Negotiating with terrorists has never been a good idea SP5 Mark Kuzinski. You know you are dealing with thugs and terrorists is when they have no consideration for compromise and demand the dissolution of the government to boot. The NVA and VC were waging total war while the South Vietnamese and we were waging constrained warfare. Constrained warfare didn't work in Korea, Vietnam or Afghanistan and Iraq for that matter.
