Thanks for reminding us about the demonstrations against the use of Naphthetic and Palmic acids AKA NAPALM SP5 Mark Kuzinski. Protests against the use of NAPALM and the sheer existence of Nuclear weapons were essentially as useful as pissing into the wind. The protesters felt good that they protested but very little useful was accomplished.
NAPALM against the Japanese soldiers in WWII was a cost-effective way to deal with a bitter and entrenched enemy who gave no quarter and expected none. Similar to DDT it was effective and low cost which were good enough reasons for the naive, gullible and corrupt to protest its use.
The image of the naked girl running from the NAPALMED village captured the imagination of the world. Here are a few other images - A-10 and NAPALM; Soldiers in Vietnam with NAPALM, crispy critter as we used to say

And the solution to the protests could have been found in the object of the protest.

As well as the use of white phosphorus, cluster bombs and depleted uranium munitions. As for nuclear weapons, people get arrested for nonviolent protests aat least three times a year at Bangor Naval Base, WA.
