Good Monday morning Col Burroughs and Posse. My husband is due back today and I am so excited!
I am bringing a heavy coat to the airport for him; we have a hypothermia alert all day and well into tomorrow...
The concept of burden immediately brings to mind the saying "many hands make light work" We were not meant to be solitary beings and to bear life's burdens by ourselves. The healthiest societies and groups are those with shared responsibilities in which people feel safe sharing their feelings and concerns. And then there is also the ultimate bearer of burdens who stands ready to help 24/7; for those who have faith, their burdens are lightened by their connection to God.
Do you have someone who shares your burdens and lightens your load? Is there someone you can do this for? This is what we as service members are about...

Lt Col Charlie Brown - Great first quote this morning and I truly believe through our work with Warriors for Life (WFL) we lift some burdens 6-days a week, every week, 12 months a year, and every year for the last four years Charlie. I know that you do the very same through your work with the American Red Cross...Thank you for your perspective on the message and all the quotes this morining...

“There are a lot of different meanings for today message and quote on burdens. We all carry different burdens, so light and some heavy, but some you should never carry on your own. You can turn to family, a friend, or spiritually to God to lesson that burden. Burdens come in many different shapes and sizes…’Sometimes you don’t feel the weight of something you’ve been carrying until you feel the weight of its release.’ Being a leader can be a burden for anyone and that is when you can reach out to your peers or your team for guidance and support as you execute the duties of that leadership. Leading people is a great privilege, but also a burden. May you have broad shoulders to carry the weight of your burden; may your mind, body, and soul be opened to grace, goodness, peace, forgiveness, and a continued bountiful life of purpose; and keep your family safe, secure, happy, and healthy. Try to let your burden go and have faith that everything will get better.” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

I expect your leadership of individuals, teams and organizations including military service, business relationships, official responsibilities and family leadership has been a mixture of joy, fulfillment and a burden at times. I hope you and I lift up our burdens to the LORD as HE reveals them to us. The LORD always accepts our burdens and offers us rest. ‘Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.’ [Matthew 11:28-30 ESV] my sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown

I pray for the individuals on the front lines of medical research; EMT; medical triage personnel, police and investigators including detectives; marshals and agents in the USA, Mexico, Canada, UK, France, India, Korea, Japan, Philippines, Australia and New Zealand. LORD I pray that YOU bless each one with endurance sufficient to their duties and an ability to rest well when they are off duty. I pray that YOU give each one wisdom and strength to accept their legitimate burdens of duty and shed off all others. ‘Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. But let each one test his own work, and then his reason to boast will be in himself alone and not in his neighbor. For each will have to bear his own load.’ [Galatians 6:2-5 ESV]
I lift parents of toddlers and young school children to YOU. I pray that YOU bless each with wisdom in terms of raising their children and making decisions about how and where they should be educated. YOU know exactly what each one should do and YOU know how each child learns best. I pray that YOU give each parent eyes to see and ears to hear how to train up their child. ‘Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it.’ [Proverbs 22:6 ESV]
I pray for the medically, physically, and mentally disabled and those who care for them – especially those who are too weak or incapable of lifting or carrying much. I pray that YOU motivate able-bodied people to come alongside those who are struggling and empower them to safely assist without risk to any. 'My command is this Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this to lay down one's life for his friends.' [John 15:11-13]
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Monday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Tuesday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ

Good “Monday” Morning “Burroughs’ Posse Leader from the overcast skies of the greater Fort Myers area...with a current temperature of 67° and headed up to about 80° this afternoon... I'll take it!!!

“Burden Day!” Why Not?

My Quote for today:
"Our Country and our People bear the burden of a split philosophy of governing which will rip us apart...and we shall bear that burden and its resolution for the generations that follow us." - Kerry F. Harkins - February 8, 2021

I am departing my usual mix of image quotes and text quotes to delineate quotes by the Late President John F. Kennedy, which fundamentally state what is needed and in my view, words to think about and take action on, so we may govern as our forefathers created, as we march forward in time... Kerry

"Let us not seek the Republican answer or the Democratic answer, but the right answer. Let us not seek to fix the blame for the past. Let us accept our own responsibility for the future." - John F. Kennedy

“The burden of leadership can be immense, so seek affirmation and guidance from you peers or from your trusted members of the team. Leading people is a privilege, and a burden. Are you ready to be a leader?” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

COL Mikel Burroughs good read/share: for the Colonel's Motivational Quotes of the Day. Where the mighty American Bald Eagles roam in the mighty MOUNTAINS OF CASTLE ROCK, COLORADO AMONG THEIR EAGLES-NEST. I know the view must be MAGNIFICENT on this day February 8, 2021 as you might glance upon the mighty snow capped mountains headed into the month of March. As you know I would respond a lot throughout the week, but I am full-time DOD employee doing contracts for the Defense Contracting Management Agency. It is good to have some time on my break to respond my friend.

Today’s Message is: “Burden Day!” Why Not? I quote, “I am going to let my burdens go. I am going to have faith that everything will get better.” — Unknown Author
