Getting ready to depart the Windy City later this afternoon to head back to the Eagle's Nest in Castle Rock, CO. Here are a couple of pictures from yesterday's graduation held in the old Chicago Theatre. Today's message will end on the importance of Good Parenting.

Great pictures COL Mikel J. Burroughs . Our children are always watching us and they will absorb what they see. So be aware that as a parent, you are performing at all times. That has occasionally stopped me from saying or doing something I will regret, just knowing my children are watching and learning from my actions. Look at yourself through the eyes of a child. Are you who you want them to be?

As veterans, all of you have already done something your children can be proud of. I think Charlie's picture expresses the biggest parent challenge. I do think we can pass on some bad habits and make mistakes. I have tried to be humble and let my kids know when I fail miserably, that I was wrong and that in that moment, I do in fact want them to do as I say....ha!
