Good morning Col Burroughs. Our lives are filled with "rites of passage" Some are easy, others much more challenging. Driving a car, voting, finding a job, marriage--all of these are rites of passage. Most religions have them as well. They are milestones in our lives and for most of us they are very memorable. Really important events should be marked in memorable ways.

We all go through the rights of Passage. So many different paths to so many different conclusions. The end result is still the same. A human being with experience in life. JP

Lt Col Charlie Brown - Very positive thought today on the "Rites of Passage" Charlie. Thank you and have a great evening...

“The ‘Rite of Passage’ could be something different for everyone. It could be a graduation from school, marriage, adulthood, graduation from Boot Camp/Basic Training, or a special military school or civilian training course. It could be the transition passage from the therapy to resiliency for PTSD or other Invisible Disabilities. Whatever your passage is or was, you earned it. May you keep a positive attitude every day as you make this symbolic transition or have already made it; may you keep yourself healthy; and keep your family safe, secure, happy, and healthy. Every positive change into something new, exciting, adventurous, and challenging is a ‘Rite to Passage!’ Most of us made that journey long ago when we completed our ‘Basic Combat Training!’ for one of the branches of the military.” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

Never considered going into the Army a rite of passage. However, the Army helped turn me into the man I am today.

I expect that you are appreciative of your own rites of passage and proud of your friends and relatives’ rites of passage including graduating from schools, marrying, and being given in marriage, birth of children, retirement; and grieving over loss and death. Hopefully, you recognize that biblically the term rites refers to the law of Moses and the Hebrew fathers. The atonement of the Christ fulfilled the requirements of the law and the prophets for the adopted children of God. We have the law of God imprinted on our heart/soul and are no longer subjected to its judgement. 'Has not Moses given you the law? Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment.’ [John 7:19,24 ESV], my sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.

LORD, I lift the service member recruits, police and federal agent recruits, and their trainers to YOU. I pray that YOU bless each one with stamina, good health, and appropriate knowledge to persevere through training. I pray that their family members, spouses, children will be able to cheer them as they graduate from training and receive diplomas/certificates. 'Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight.' [Romans 12:15-16 ESV]
I lift husbands and wives, the newly wed, those on the verge of separation to YOU LORD. I pray that YOU infuse hope into each one and bless them with endurance and wisdom to fight the good fight, good listening skills, compassion, kindness, and love.
I lift the widows, widowers, and orphans to YOU and pray that YOU motivate great listeners to spend time with each one physically or remotely though technology. I lift intercessors to YOU dear LORD and pray that YOU use us to intercede for the widows, widowers, and orphans, the nation and the leaders of the states and nation.
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Thursday night and will awake healthy on Friday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

Good “Thursday” Morning “Burroughs’ Posse Leader from a warming SW Metrowest Area of Greater Boston, where our current temperature is 61° with a humidity of 84% and wind SW 6 mph... It is headed up to the upper 70s today...with very little chance for rain! Should be a great day... Weather wise at least... LOL! ------ “Rite of Passage Day!” Why Not? ------

1) "Few of us go through life without taking part in some kind of rite of passage." - Hank Nuwer

2) "There aren't a lot of opportunities for that rite of passage that makes you a man. War is one of them, and violent sports are another." - Sylvester Stallone

3) "Effective leaders are made, not born. They learn from trial and error, and from experience." - Colin Powell

4) "Honor to the soldier and sailor everywhere, who bravely bears his country's cause. Honor, also, to the citizen who cares for his brother in the field and serves, as he best can, the same cause." - Abraham Lincoln

5) "Every positive change - every jump to a higher level of energy and awareness - involves a rite of passage. Each time to ascend to a higher rung on the ladder of personal evolution, we must go through a period of discomfort, of initiation. I have never found an exception." - Dan Millman

The Right of Passage is different for each human being, but it is very similar to others when you've chosen the Military. So...

“When you march by the reviewing stand on graduation day after basic training or boot camp you’ve earned your rite of passage with blood and sweat – never forget!” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs
