Good Sunday morning Burroughs ' Posse Leader, from the bright skies full of small wispy clouds herein the Greater Boston Area... I feel the pain of cold windy days of winter creeping up on us all, but before I expound further, my morning shower awaits... Will finish up shortly! Have a great Sunday, Mikel...

“Pain Day!” Why Not?

I am feeling the Pain & frustration today as I just changed the batteries in my firearm safe and now cannot open it and I cannot find the secondary keys...! Yikes! Moving on...

1) "Powerful people are not those who have never been hurt, but rather are those who have harnessed all their pain and turned it into a motivation for something good." - Unknown

2) "Without pain, there would be no suffering, without suffering we would never learn from our mistakes. To make it right, pain and suffering is the key to all windows, without it, there is no way of life." - Angelina Jolie

3) "History, despite its wrenching pain, cannot be unlived, but if faced with courage, need not be lived again." - Maya Angelou

4) "How much pain they have cost us, the evils which have never happened." - Thomas Jefferson

5) "We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret or disappointment." - Jim Rohn

6) "He who learns must suffer. And even in our sleep pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart, and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of God." - Aeschylus

Too many of us have felt the pain...the pain of angst, the pain of a broken spirit, the pain of injury and...

“Too many of our veterans and service members understand all too well the feeling and meaning of pain – along with their positive attitudes and inspiration to fight through this obstacle stand with me to help relieve some of that pain!”— COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

Sgt (Join to see) - I see you made it bakc with some awesome quotes to share for the message today brother...bummer on the firearms safe Kerry - I hate it when things happen like that, but I know you'll get through the pain and come up with a solution...Try to have a better day Kerry...

“Pain can come in many different forms. The pain of losing a love one or family members, the pain of losing a friend, job, or business. The physical and mental pain felt by so many individuals, veterans, and service members from physical injuries, combat, trauma, divorce, financial loss, and transition. Believe it or not, there is always opportunity to gain through our pain if we treat it with a positive outlook. Sometimes much easier said than done to actually overcome the pain. May you find the way and will to overcome your pain and not let it become suffering; may you maintain the best positive attitude to help you get through or over the pain you may be feeling for whatever reason; may your mind, body, and soul be opened to grace, goodness, peace, forgiveness, and a bountiful life that matters; and keep your family safe, secure, happy, and healthy. We all have choices when it comes to dealing with pain — we can have negative or positive thoughts. Your mission, if you chose to accept it, is to combat pain with positive thoughts.” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

I expect that you are grateful and very thankful for the immeasurably-painful atonement of Jesus the Christ who purchased our salvation and justification with his flesh and blood on the Cross. HIS pain was voluntary on our behalf as well as for each & every other adopted child of God purchased by the blood of the Lamb. ‘Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, and said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.’ [Luke 24:45-47 ESV] my brother-in-Christ Sgt (Join to see).

LORD I lift up each one of YOUR adopted sons and daughters and their family members who are enduring constant or near-constant physical pain, mental anguish, severe depression, deliberate mistreatment and abuse to YOU. I pray that YOU bless each of them with a large measure of endurance and peace. I pray that YOU bless each one with Hope in YOU who intend to kill themselves this season. Motivate compassionate people to make contact with the desperate. Use us intercessors to intercede for them dear LORD. 'Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.’ [Romans 8:26-27 ESV]
I pray LORD that YOU bless those who are earnestly praying for salvation of family members and friends, for peace on the streets in the USA, Canada, Mexico, UK, France, India, Korea, Israel, Australia, Japan, Philippines and New Guinea. I pray that each of us adopted children of God are growing in compassion for our neighbors. 'Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly.' [Romans 12:15-16 ESV]
LORD I pray that YOU enable each of us of YOUR adopted sons and daughters to demonstrate our faith in YOU to our family, friends, coworkers and others we interact with through action and if appropriate supplemented with words. ‘but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame. For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that should be God’s will, than for doing evil.' [1 Peter 3:15-17 ESV]
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Sunday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Monday morning.

Good Sunday morning Mikel and my friends on RallyPoint! I think you are right. We veterans have much pain from our service: physical, mental, and emotional. I hope any kind of pain is soothed by the prayers we have for each other.

“There is a saying in Tibetan, 'Tragedy should be utilized as a source of strength.' No matter what sort of difficulties, how painful experience is, if we lose our hope, that's our real disaster.”

I'm not sure what good in life comes without a little pain. In my athletic days the "no pain no gain" quote flowed from all my coaches at one time or another. Of course that was the physical kind of pain but for more times than I can remember the mental and emotional pain was there in one way or another for everything that life threw at me. The key I guess is to not give up in the face of any kind of pain if you want to succeed at anything in life.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - Excellent! As a former soldier, athlete, and coach, I used the no pain, no gain philosophy as well. There is no spiritual character but pain made it so.

Good morning Col Burroughs. Once again, an interesting topic. I have seen the results of those who feel no pain whether it is physically or psychologically. They are both disastrous! Those who feel no psychological/emotional pain are psychopaths who go about hurting, stealing and decieving others without a qualm. They are without a conscience. Those who cannot feel physical pain tend not to live full lives; they are scarred and damaged physically because they cannot feel the heat of a flame or a broken bone. Pain is something we need for survival so let's embrace it as a learning tool instead of something to be avoided at all costs.

Lt Col Charlie Brown - I have read a few of Dean Koontz's books, they were dark IMHO, and I have tried others, and do not find enjoyment in his writing...
