It is good news that the US embassy in Afghanistan will be "closed for routine services" SP5 Mark Kuzinski. I trust that the embassy and other allied embassies are reviewing security lapses which allowed the terrorists to attack the German Consulate and Bagram Airfield.
The terrorist were able to get close enough to inflict significant damage in both cases which indicates they had knowledge of the facilities they attacked, security procedures in place and probably were able to either develop false security "papers" or had somebody complicit in the guard forces or both.
A classmate of mine, a retired Colonel, was killed after a car bombing attack in Kabul on Aug 25, 2015.COL Mikel J. Burroughs LTC Stephen C. It is best to close down the embassy to preserve life. The insurgents need a good lesson in manners.

No it's not good to close things down - that's what they want - Get out and kick their ass!

SP5 Mark Kuzinski - The terrorists do need a good butt whipping, perhaps accomplished through a new troop surge.

I tend to disagree with those I am normally in lock step with. Had the State Department done this in Benghazi, four Americans would be alive today. If adequate security could be provided, I could somewhat agree with staying to prove a point.
