ALL New Connections - Back by Popular Demand! I'm still receiving some great photos from all you RP Members. THANKS!
Keep them coming!
All you photogenic military personnel out there in RP Land let’s have a little photo session just to lighten it up today! Share the first photograph or the earliest photograph of yourself when you entered the military and tell us the date of the photo.
I'll start with Private Burroughs in 1975 at Fort Leonard Wood, MO & end with Colonel Mikel in 2005!

In 1976 my ship, USS Biddle CG-34, anchored in Scapa Flow in the Orkney Islands, Scotland. We had been in rough seas during this winter cruise and the entire fleet sought a safe anchorage.

I don't understand the USAF uniform. Are you a retired CDR or retired LtCol?

Great question. I am still active duty serving in my third branch of service. I was Navy enlisted for nearly 17 years, Air Force officer for nearly 6 years, and currently PHS officer going on 13 years. I plan to serve 2-4 more years before I retire. It's been an interesting journey as the mission of each branch of service is a bit different as to be expected.

I also enjoyed all the pictures. I am not sure if I have any anymore. I have been out so long they are probably all yellow. One thing I noticed. No matter what branch we were in it seems we all came out fatter than we went in. Thanks to good chow, or was it the beer?? LOL

Could not remember if I posted previously when this popped up this morning Col. This pic actually covers my dad- Korea, my brother- just at the end of Vietnam, and myself in 1984. Each are our first pics in uniform.

Cynthia Croft - my dad passed in 92- I see him every morning when I shave. My mom has basic pictures of both of us in black and white- I must have gotten mine from a photo booth or something. Both sets are yellowed and hard to tell the difference in some of them. Thanks for the response and they are cool.

COL Mikel J. Burroughs here is a picture of my with two of my best friends after a wedding at West point, NY a month after we graduated and before we went to our basic courses. The next month I went to the Infantry Mortar Platoon Officers Course [IMPOC] and Fort Benning, GA just before Infantry Officers Basic Course [IOBC].
