My Pinkerton office had that picture on the Wall, I had worked as a District Operations Manager for Pinkerton Security and Investigations with 350 Pinkerton Officers and three Pinkerton offices locations under My supervision. Later I worked Management on an Armed Federal Contract for Pinkerton Government services. The Pinkerton International Detective's was formed in 1850 and the US Secret Service adopted many of the Pinkerton practices. The term Private Eye comes from the Pinkerton's and they used the eye in their logo and still do. My Pinkerton Badge and ID both had the modern version of that eye upon it.
