Led Zeppelin: Maida Vale BBC Studios (June 24th, 1969) Remastered
Date: June 24th, 1969Location: Maida Vale BBC Studios, LondonTour: 1969 United Kingdom Summer TourNumber of performance: 115Merry Christmas! My dear friends,...
Led Zeppelin: Maida Vale BBC Studios (June 24th, 1969) Remastered
This one includes a song that holds a special place in my heart, TRB.
The session was recorded between 2:30PM and 9:30PM on June 24th, and broadcasted on June 29th from 7:00PM to 9:00PM on John Peel's Top Gear.
00:00 Intro
00:08 What Is and What Should Never Be
04:29 Whole Lotta Love
10:35 Communication Breakdown
13:18 Travelling Riverside Blues
Here's a comment by Jimmy Page:
"We recorded this show at Maida Vale studio to promote 'Led Zeppelin II'. In typical Led Zeppelin tradition 'Travelling Riverside Blues' was made up on the spot from a riff I had on the electric twelve string. We had reached a point at the BBC where you could overdub a solo over the initial track of the song. This helped a lot to give a more complete rendition of our material and I must say the BBC engineer Tony Wilson did a really good job for us on this day."
