Thank you my friend CW5 Jack Cardwell for sharing the music video of Marv Ashby & High Octane performing Bill Monroe's song "I'm On My Way Back To The Old Home" from Berkeley Springs in the West Virginia Panhandle, Marv Ashby and High Octane came to the Blue Plate Special. hey brought their hard-driving mix of traditional and contemporary bluegrass music, which features Marv’s aggressive flatpicking style and straight-ahead vocal arrangements. High Octane is: Doug (Beardie) Moats on bass, Larry Crawford on fiddle, and Jack VanOrden on banjo. After a short fiddle intro (“Fire On The Mountain”) the band picks “I’m On My Way Back To The Old Home”, from their 2014 project, “The Recipe”.

By the way my darling wife and I began visiting Berkeley Springs in the fall to see the fall foliage it is about an hour and half from where we live.

"I'm On My Way Back To The Old Home" old song written and recorded by Bill Monroe
Lyrics
"Back in the days of my childhood
In the evening when everything was still
I used to sit and listen to the fox hounds
With my dad in the old Kentucky hills
I'm on my way back to the old home
That road winds on up the hill
But there's no light in the window
That shined long ago where I lived
Soon my childhood days were over
I had to leave my old home
For my mom and dad were called to heaven
I was left in this world all alone
High in the hills of old Kentucky
Stands the fondest part of my memory
I'm on my way back to the old home
That light in the window I long to see"
