Earlier today I shared the Premier of the Orion Spacecraft in preparation for the actual unmanned test of it which occurred on Dec. 5th, 2014 at 0705 hours from Space Launch Complex 37 at Cape Canaveral AIr Force Station in Florida...
Orion’s Exploration Flight Test-1 (EFT-1), is the first flight test for NASA’s new deep space capsule and is a critical step on NASA's journey to Mars. The 4.5 hour flight is scheduled to conclude with the splashdown of Orion in the Pacific Ocean. This is a 10 minute (+/-) launch sequence,, but it is interesting to watch the Earth getting smaller and smaller as the craft continues its launch sequence...
I will immediately follow this Launch sequence video with a relatively short re-entry and splash down in the Pacific!

I find it fascinating that man has been able to launch such weight out of the earth’s gravitational influence.

As am I PO1 H Gene Lawrence! What is somewhat of a let down is that we have gone from a space shuttle with an aircraft like landing system back to a capsule with a parachute landing into the ocean... Seems like a backward step and an expensive one at that...Gene...
