Good morning Col Burroughs and Posse and Happy Hump Day.
We see lots of examples of irrational thought and behavior and not nearly enough of the other. One of the scariest things I hear is "feelings trump facts" Wait, what? No, they don't. Decisions need to be made based on reality; actions taken once we have enough real information to make a good one. Nothing is perfect but looking at things rationally, as unemotionally as possible gives us the best chance of doing that.

Lt Col Charlie Brown - Thanks for your thoughts today Charlie, running a little behind today, spent time getting registered at the VA down here in Houston, TX and getting of the care registered/licensed - busy day and more busy tomorrow. Thanks for that additional quotes on rational...

“I believe that rational thinking and actions are so important when accessing certain situations, organizing priorities, and analyzing important information (facts) before reacting, commenting, or making rash decisions. That leads me to this quote…

‘Don’t’ let your emotions ruin your life. Think rationally!’ — Unknown Author

May you always have the ability to be rational and consider fact they will lead to sound conclusions in everything you do; may your mind, body, and soul be opened to grace, goodness, peace, forgiveness, and a continued bountiful life of purpose; and keep your family safe, secure, happy, and healthy.” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

I expect you listen thoughtfully before speaking, and treat each person you meet, interact with, or come across respectfully. Most likely you are more proactive than reactive. I expect that you demonstrate calmness in crises and your ability to be calm helps others to be calm. No doubt those who look to you for leadership, advice and/or comfort appreciate your candor, trustworthiness, and ease of communicating with you especially in unexpected circumstances and situations. I hope your foundation is rooted solidly in the atonement of the Christ. I pray that you and I are motivated to seek justice for others. Let YOUR love cleanse each of us and YOUR peace empower us to bring calm into crises and areas of turmoil. ‘Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.” [Psalm 82:3-4 ESV], my sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.

I pray for good judgement, logical reasoning, rational thought and hope in YOU dear LORD for each one of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who reads or listens to this prayer. I expect that you have learned the mutual benefits of investing time, talents, resources, and energy in many noble and worthwhile activities. In all likelihood, you are very effective in leading those who depend on you to develop approaches to complex issues. I expect those who look to you for leadership, advice and friendship appreciate your teamwork, discernment and decisive approach to make decisions. I expect you are passionate about the health, welfare and safety of those closest to you in proximity as well as relationship. ‘Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.' [John 14:27 ESV]
I pray for sufficient fruit of the Spirit self-control, faithfulness, compassion, and goodness for each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who reads or hears this prayer LORD. I thank you for purifying our character through sanctification of the soul of each of us dear LORD. ‘For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. [2 Peter 1:5-8 ESV]
I pray that the LORD blesses each of you with discernment as you are faced with decisions especially when there does not seem to be a good choice available. I expect that you have learned the mutual benefits of investing time, talents, resources, and energy in many noble and worthwhile activities. In all likelihood, you are very effective in leading those who depend on you to develop approaches to complex issues. LORD I pray that YOU enable each of us to judge wisely whenever we are called upon to judge anything from food preparation to major project design through serving on a jury. I pray that you bless each one with ears to hear YOU dear LORD. 'If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.” And he said to them, “Pay attention to what you hear: with the measure you use, it will be measured to you, and still more will be added to you. [Mark 4:23-24 ESV]
I pray for discernment, alertness to the prompting of the Holy Spirit and humility for each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who reads this prayer of hears it. In this age when radical progressives advocating critical race theory and their mainstream allies luring us to fall for their ploys and deceptive people intent on changing the meanings of words and phrases and declaring reasonable speech to be hate speech, we need the LORD’s help to respond properly with grace and wisdom. I hope and pray that you and I are alert to the Holy Spirit and HIS prompting as we listen or watch people attempting to fool us into believing their errors in judgement, deceptions and/or evil intentions. ‘And what I am doing I will continue to do, in order to undermine the claim of those who would like to claim that in their boasted mission they work on the same terms as we do. For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds. [2 Corinthians 12-15 ESV]
I pray for sufficient endurance and a strengthening of the character if each one of us who is going through harder times than we have previously experienced – including widows, widowers, divorces, and others whose hopes, dreams, and love has been upended. I pray that YOU enable us each to grieve to completion. I pray for an increase of the fruit patience, compassion, goodness and self-control for each of us. Help us to know who and what we should pray for dear LORD. ‘Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.’ [Romans 8:26-27 ESV]
I pray for genuine increase of moral courage, honesty, and desire for fairness for each trustworthy legislator, judge, justice, government executive, appointed official, and leader. I pray that YOU bless each with wisdom, great listening skills, and favor in negotiations. ‘Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. [James 1:19-20 ESV]
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Wednesday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Thursday morning.

Rational Day works for me. Hated T Rations and C Rations, but the MREs were not too bad even from the get-go. But I always ate any of them, one has to rationalize these things, right?

Rationalize today, RallyPoint, on this fine Rational Day.
