I always laugh when people say don't make waves and don't rock the boat....my experience is those are the people that can't lead and don't like to be called out. When you show someone the regulation and they still disagree my standard response is to turn to the title page and say- Yes...yes you do outrank the Secretary of the Air Force..... I also don't have many friends. But when the shit hits the fan and something needs to get done- my phone is usually ringing. Leaving you with this little ditty on the rocking the boat subject. Happy Hump Day all.

Sgt Albert Duran - thank you Albert, but I am just the guy that gets stuff done. I am not politically correct and call it as I see it. I am tempered in what I say, but normally when it gets to me it is neglected and broken. People get nervous when you point out the things that need fixed.

I always thought that song was fun, but wrong, right? I have been told I am too assertive at times, because I rock the boat.....I am working on rocking it respectfully, but know that sometimes if we don't rock the boat, it sails too far in the wrong direction. "The good ol' boy myth and the nice gal are a kind of social conformity myth. They create a real paradox when put together with the "rugged individual" part of the Success Myth. How can I be a rugged individual, be my own man and conform at the same time? Conforming means "Don't make a wave", "Don't rock the boat". Be a nice gal or a good ol' boy. This means that we have to pretend a lot." ~ John Bradshaw

Be courageous. If things need to change, be one who will step up and make it happen. Is it more important to fit in or to be honest? Only you know when things are important enough to you to step out of that comfort zone and speak up. What are the things or ideas that move you to action? How can you get others to "wake up" to what needs to change?

That philosophy was promulgated by the rotchilds who after Illegally establishing - in fact own the federal reserve! It was served up in the American educational system & still is as part of the control mechanism of the brain-washing - to further control, their American 'sheep' !!!

Well, Lt Col Charlie Brown you did it again. Summed up thoughts that are bouncing around in my head. (BTW, my wife and I love Bradshaw has produced some great PBS programs. Anyway, there is one thing without a doubt that I NEVER been accused of and that is Conform! Not me, I have been accused of being a boat rocker all the way back to my childhood. I still remember times when my boat rocking either caused my difficulty or praise....

Good evening my friend and sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.
Heavenly Father, LORD YOU are the Creator, Rock, Protector, Sustainer and Lover of each of YOUR adopted children. YOUR Word moves heaven and earth and has not only rocked the earth; but, YOU have shattered powers and principalities which opposed YOU.
We desperately need wisdom as we walk through life and lead those YOU have entrusted to our care. I pray that we each learn to easily recognize YOUR voice and that We will be instantly obedient to YOUR direction.
Help us to stand firm for justice, love, compassion and truth. Help us to minister to widows, orphans, prisoners, disabled, the sick and dying. Move us to do what we should be it acting on their behalf, providing funding or other resources and always to pray and intercede as YOU lead us.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

I do all the time, after I read up on the regulations first. You're correct that it does take courage to stand up and say something that could affect your career. I always tell my NCO's that it gets lonely at the top for a reason. You don't get to these positions without rocking the boat at some point.

Nicely stated CW3 Michael Bodnar and warrant officer have a great nack at rocking the boat for the right reasons - that's what it's all about in between the Commissioned Officer and the Enlisted Corps - the expert to keep the ship going in the right direction. Have a great evening Chief!

CW3 Michael Bodnar Well, that statement makes me think I was doing things in the wrong order, act first, check regs if things go sideways. Basic Boat Rocking (don't recall the MOS number, but I am sure it is there.)

Good evening CW3 Michael Bodnar and thank you for sharing a summary of your experience at wisely rocking the boat.
