Good morning Col Burroughs on this RED Friday. I do still do much enjoy exploring life, experiencing new things and meeting new people. A spirit of wonder and openness to new things and ideas goes a long way in keeping life interesting. It also sustains us during tough times. On that thought, I share this lovely well known tune from Lee Ann Womak

Lt Col Charlie Brown - Perfect tune for the quotes and message today on exploring and I love all the additonal quotes you shared as well Charlie. I love to explore as well and hopefully I can do that in June 2021 on a 10,000 mile plus ride on the Harley to raise money to abolsih veteran healthcare debt with this Pandemic stopping me. Give our best to Tom and stay healthy and safe Charlie...

“Exploration is definitely getting off that comfortable path and seeking new discoveries for many different reasons; new processes; new vision; new places; new adventures; and of course, self-exploration (examining your own spiritual and intellectual capabilities) as an individual or a leader. Never stop exploring, asking questions, or wanting to learn. May you always continue to explore all the possibilities of life and happiness; may you always maintain the best positive attitude during your exploration; may you keep your mind, body, and soul fully mission capable for the adventures ahead; and keep your family safe, secure, happy, and healthy. ‘Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom’ — Aristotle — Have a great “R.E.D. Friday” and enjoy the weekend — go exploring!” — COL (Ret) Mike Burroughs

I expect your physical explorations in life have expanded your knowledge and hopefully brought you closer to interacting with people from different cultures and viewpoints. No doubt your relationship with the LORD has expanded your love for others as you demonstrate your love for HIM. 'The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.' [Proverbs 9:10 ESV] my sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.

I pray that you and I understand that the LORD alone is the source of wisdom and that HE loves to answer yes to our prayers for wisdom. To the degree that we love the LORD, we are able to love those around us selflessly and more fully. It is foolish for us to search within ourselves for anything other than memories. After we die, others can search inside us for bones, muscular tissue and organs for donation to others who could be blessed by them. ‘For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery, you shall not murder, you shall not steal, you shall not covet,” and any other commandment, are summed up in this word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.’ [Romans 13:9-10 ESV]
I lift those searching for truth throughout the world to YOU LORD. Thank YOU, LORD, for opening eyes and ears to the truth of YOU in YOUR perfect timing. I pray that YOU answer yes to those earnestly praying for their loved ones.
I pray for wisdom, honesty, insight and success for those focused on getting to the truth about the balloting in the 2020 election as well as plans to change the execution of the balloting process. LORD Let the explorations be guided by YOU. I pray that YOU remove stumbling blocks in understanding, process, and procedures.
I pray that YOU bless parents and guardians of the young with a desire and capability to instill a hunger for learning in the children. Guide the mind, hands and feet of parents and children to play together, laugh and cry with each other as they make their way through life.
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Friday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Saturday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ

COL Mikel Burroughs good read/share: for the Colonel's Motivational Quotes of the Day. Where the mighty American Bald Eagles roam in the mighty ROCKY MOUNTAINS OF CASTLE ROCK, COLORADO AMONG THIER EAGLES-NEST. I know the view must be MAGNIFICIENT on this day November 13, 2020 as you might glance upon the mighty snow capped mountains headed into the month of December. As you know I would respond a lot throughout the week, but I am full-time DOD employee doing contracts for the Defense Contracting Management Agency. It is good to have some time on my break to respond my friend.

Today's theme is “Exploration Day!” I quote, “Life is an exploration of things. The more exploration, we make, the more knowledge we gain.” — Unknown Author

Good R.E.D. Friday, Colonel... Eating breakfast, more shortly... and I am finally in my office and raring to go!

Good “R.E.D Friday” Morning “Burroughs’ Posse Leader once again... When I am using my smartphone to "Explore" RP, Twitter, Facebook, and emails, It is difficult for me to embark on the type of detailed response I usually provide regardless of venue I am on at the time... LOL! Having said that I see that Today is: “Exploration Day!” Why Not?

1) "We need the tonic of wildness…At the same time that we are earnest to explore and learn all things, we require that all things be mysterious and unexplorable, that land and sea be indefinitely wild, unsurveyed and unfathomed by us because unfathomable. We can never have enough of nature.” – Henry David Thoreau

2) "We have to establish our credentials as an explorocracy; so to survive and rule ourselves, we have to explore.” – China Mieville

3) "A life lived every day doing only what needs to be done may seem convenient, but your heart and soul don’t live for convenience they live for exploration, imagination and the pursuit of dreams. Do what must be done but also do what your heart and soul want to be done.” – Avina Celeste

4) "Exploring is an innate part of being human. We’re all explorers when we’re born. Unfortunately, it seems to get drummed out of many of us as we get older, but it’s there, I think, in all of us. And for me that moment of discovery is just so thrilling, on any level, that I think anybody that’s experienced it is pretty quickly addicted to it.” – Edith Widder

5) "When you give yourself to places, they give you yourself back; the more one comes to know them, the more one seeds them with the invisible crop of memories and associations that will be waiting for when you come back, while new places offer up new thoughts, new possibilities. Exploring the world is one the best ways of exploring the mind, and walking travels both terrains.” – Rebecca Solnit

Exploration and Discovery seem to go hand in hand... Read on...

“As a follow-up to yesterday’s topic on discovery, exploration leaders are always lifetime learners, they’re curious, they ask questions, they set clear visions and purpose, and they go after it. They are never satisfied and they embrace challenge!” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs
