SP5 Mark Kuzinski on behalf of all who can no loner speak for themselves but were affected by Vietnam, thank you for sticking to the promise "We won't forget you" The world was a hostile place when you returned, it was not the America where you had grown up (no news to many) singing an agreement in Vietnam where many didn't want you either.
I can say in my opinion, I am more than glad this was signed and followed through. And to create a forum (RP) where all are welcome. While not as physically demanding, we've are living in times who don't understand the importance of a strong military presence well supplied nor do they understand what sacrifices you made and still hold dear, the Oath we took. You survived battle in a divided country where your presence meant hope and came back to worse than nothing.
I would personally like to reach out to every survivor, warrior, brother, sister, mentors who knew this should not happen again yet you are the ones who are now passing your knowledge to the new guys. This may be a page in History for the youngest still at war.in the Middle East. A lot of you on RP are from Korea, Vietnam. A Cold War. The country evolved for a while and welcomed warriors home. But many feel alone despite living on American soil. The Vietnam community of Veterans are aging and coming together, That blank check you signed? I am grateful you have not cashed it or taken your own life and can be here to teach us about how history looks in context and be the steadfast front line of the Patriot Guard to ensure peaceful burials for all veterans. Your experience through the rest of your life inspired someone. Many of you inspire me daily,
As I step off my tiny soapbox and am in a house where no gunshots are fired, I am fortunate I live somewhere who appreciates the military and thank you for passing on knowledge and skills as we brought the new generation to take over. I hear more roaring engines and frequently see transport wings bringing warriors home. We are free here in America. Thank you. We are charged to remember, teach, train, mentor right here on RP. Glad you lived to see this drawdown in 73. And glad to make your acquaintance.

Maj Kim Patterson - First of all, thank you! I was one of the lucky ones that was stationed in Thailand in support of the war. Second, bless you for your kind and giving words. You stated; "I would personally like to reach out to every survivor, warrior, brother, sister, mentors who knew this should not happen again yet you are the ones who are now passing your knowledge to the new guys." Well you just did reach out to all that read what you have added to my post - Again, thank you and bless you Sister.

Maj Kim Patterson -I too would like to add my thanks for your respectful and much appreciated words, the war was only a small part of my life, but it had far reaching meanings that still haunt me in good ways and bad,the one thing that is always with me is the sense of Brotherhood that will never leave me,we might have come home alone in many cases but we are together now in our memories of that terrible place where we lost and are still losing too many of our Brothers.

Thanks for reminding us SP5 Mark Kuzinski that in 1972 that the USA was deciding to play hardball about U.S. troop withdrawals from Vietnam. No more troop withdrawal announcements until Paris Peace conference "final truce" was signed by the North Vietnamese delegation.
Unfortunately the North Vietnams' had no intention of honoring a permanent truce. Their objective was unification of all of Vietnam under Ho Chi Mihn. They waited until we left and then they purged South Vietnam.
