Good early R.E.D. Friday Afternoon my Brothers and Sisters!
ATTENTION! I changed the video as I found a better one that includes a short clip of the blades rotating... So some of what I posted reflects the original video I posted, so please excuse anything described that doesn't fit this new video... Let me know what you think about this video... Kerry
Well I must say, I did predict this earlier this morning and it has now come to pass! Mission Control gave the commands to start the ramp up testing on the Rotors and Blades and it was successful... Of course Mission Control only wanted to make sure that all was good with the rotors and that was achieved... Transmitting Video from Mars to Earth is not usually done because of the large file sizes these videos have... and then to send them 171.75 million miles to Earth would be a huge feat and eat up oodles of power... That said, this short video uses a series of still images in sequence to create the video you see here... Not all that good, but one will not be able to see the rotors spin anyway when it flies, as the rotors and blades will be spinning at some 2400-2500 RPMs... All looks good to go, and MIssion COntrol still stands by their flight attempt plan of no earlier than April 11th... So I figure that it will be between the 11th and the 12th if the Martian weather holds.

"The Ingenuity helicopter's rotor blades were "spun to 50 rpm in preparation for first flight," according to NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. The Perseverance rover captured several images of Ingenuity as it conducted the test. Full Story: https://www.space.com/mars-helicopter..."

I hope you enjoyed this first rotor test...
