Good Sunday morning Col Burroughs and Posse. We could all use a little more positive thinking and positive feedback.
It seems we are always quick to criticize but not always very good at positive comments to people. If there is something positive in this mess (the virus) it is that I have heard a lot more "thank you's" that actually seemed to be heartfelt than I've heard in a long time. People seem more appreciative of service and of assistance than they've been in a while. I think it is sad that it takes something like this to bring out the positive in many people. Have you said thank you to anyone lately? Or "thanks, I appreciate that?" Admiration for someone's hard work, steadfastness, patience, etc should be recognized so that it is reinforced. The team will do better for it.

Lt Col Charlie Brown - Sorry for the super late response - thank you Charlie for the additional quotes and thoughts...
“Admiration for someone or something comes from respect and appreciation for what they do and how they affect others. Leaders build organizations and teams that can be admired for their inspiration and motivation to get things accomplished in such a way that it’s not about them, but it’s about something bigger for all to experience and benefit from. May you be that person who can be generous in heart and spirt, so others will want to emulate; be that person you’d admire if you were looking into a mirror; may you always carry yourself with a positive attitude that will push others to seek their highest potential; may your mind, body, and soul be opened to grace, goodness, peace, forgiveness, and a bountiful life of purpose; and keep your family safe, secure, happy, and healthy. ‘To love is to admire with the heart.; to admire is to love with the mind.’ — Theophile Gautier.” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

Keith Green: Create in me a Clean Heart
Create in me a Clean Heart oh Lord my God!
I expect that you are admired by many people for your courage of conviction, your demonstration of respect for others, and your sacrificial love. Hopefully those closest to you admire you as you care for them in these challenging times. 'Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.’ [Romans 15:7 ESV] my sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.
I pray that each one of your adopted sons and daughters are growing in grace, mercy and hospitality in this dismal winter season. Let YOUR light and love shine through us and warm our heart/soul to bless those we interact with. 'Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Outdo yourselves in honoring one another. Do not let your zeal subside; keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, persistent in prayer. Share with the saints who are in need. Practice hospitality.' [Romans 12:10-13 ESV]
LORD I pray that YOU empower each of us to be ambassadors for peace in these challenging times. Empower each of us with compassion, humility, and brotherly love. 'Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but enjoy the company of the lowly. Do not be conceited.'[ Romans 12:15-16 ESV]
I pray that YOU renew the mind of each one of us – especially those who are greiving for the nation we live in 'Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.’ [Philippians 4:8-9 ESV]
I pray for justice, mercy and peace in Washington, DC in the wake of the demonstration, protestors swarming into the capitol building and the police sweep up of individuals who were not involved in either. ‘Give me now wisdom and knowledge to go out and come in before this people, for who can govern this people of yours, which is so great’ [2 Chronicles 1:10 ESV]
As for those intent on injuring others, depriving them of God-given rights and freedom, biased against discovering truth, and swearing falsely. ‘Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment.’ [Romans 13:2 ESV]
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Sunday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Monday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

COL Mikel Burroughs good read/share: for the Colonel's Motivational Quotes of the Day. Where the mighty American Bald Eagles roam in the mighty MOUNTAINS OF CASTLE ROCK, COLORADO AMONG THEIR EAGLES-NEST. I know the view must be MAGNIFICENT on this day January 10, 2021. As you might glance upon the mighty snow capped mountains headed into the month of February. As you know I would respond a lot throughout the week, but I am full-time DOD employee doing contracts for the Defense Contracting Management Agency. It is good to have some time on the weekend before I start my running around to respond my friend.
Today's theme is "Admiration Day" I quote, “Developing a relationship with someone you admire, who can encourage you to reach your full potential, is something that everyone can benefit from.” — Mandy Moore

LTC Stephen F. - I love this part of our liturgy. Psalm 51:10-12
Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11 Do not cast me from your presence
or take your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation
and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11 Do not cast me from your presence
or take your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation
and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
