Good morning Col Burroughs and Posse. It's been an eventful week.
Rushing...brings to mind the saying...act in haste, repent at leisure. Often we are so anxious to "do something" we do the wrong thing and then have to undo it if we can. There is a difference between acting quickly/promptly and rushing; the first has thought behind it, the latter is more of a reflex without weighing the evidence. I like this quote from Earl Monroe about the game; he was great to watch as he moved quickly to set up the play but he rarely "rushed the shot"
Take a breath, there's always time to breath and consider and then make your move.

COL Mikel J. Burroughs - This is an important one. There are some things that CANNOT be rushed, and if you ATTEMPT to rush, the result will do more harm than good. Not only do you have to sometimes slow down and be patient, but you also have to think things through.

I expect that you have discernment and enough wisdom to quickly size-up most situations and act decisively. Hopefully your relationship with the LORD keeps you attuned to his guidance throughout the day. I pray that you and I have a proper balance of patience and decisiveness as we go throughout our days and nights. 'Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.’ [Ephesians 5:15-17 ESV], my sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.

I lift each adopted son and daughter who reads this prayer LORD. I pray that we choose life over death, wisdom over folly, compassion over selfishness. ‘I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live, loving the LORD your God, obeying his voice and holding fast to him, for he is your life and length of days….’ [Deuteronomy 30:19-20 ESV]
I pray for discernment and a noble quest for evidentiary knowledge for judges from local to national and international levels. I pray that YOU guide the mind of each and bless each one who is unbiased with wisdom to adjudicate. For those who are biased in judgement, I pray that YOU confound them until they repent from their bias. ‘Woe to those who decree iniquitous decrees, and the writers who keep writing oppression, to turn aside the needy from justice and to rob the poor of my people of their right, that widows may be their spoil, and that they may make the fatherless their prey!’ Isaiah 10:1-2 ESV]
I lift parents of schoolchildren in the USA, Canada, Mexico, UK, Ireland, France, India, Korea, Japan, Philippines, Australia and New Zealand to YOU dear LORD. I pray that YOU bless them with wisdom, discernment and knowledge especially in districts that have repented of wisdom and decided to rush to get students back to public school classrooms. I pray that many parents have adopted home schooling and will be blessed to educate their children at home. ‘Train up a child in the way he should go; Even when he is old, he will not depart from it.’ [Proverbs 22:6 ESV]
As far as government leaders from national to local level who have decided that a shift in government focus is sufficient to reverse their lock-down to open-up even while a new strain of coronavirus has descended in the USA, UK, Canada, Australia and elsewhere. LORD I pray that YOU convict those focused on political goals over the well-being of their constituents. I pray they repent. If not release a whirlwind on them and their goals. ‘One who is wise is cautious and turns away from evil, but a fool is reckless and careless. A man of quick temper acts foolishly, and a man of evil devices is hated.’ Proverbs 14:16-17 ESV]
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Sunday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Monday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

Good “Sunday” Morning “Burroughs’ Posse LEader from Fort Myers where the the skies are clear and the temperature at 8:36am is a wonderful 65° and heading up to about a marvelous 80° today

“Rush Day!” Why Not?

MY PERSONAL QUOTE:
In this crazy world of ours, we rush here, rush there, deadlines to meet and we rush to complete our tasks, only to slip up and make mistakes on a costly project or event... Take your time and do things unrushed." - Kerry Harkins January 24, 2021

1) "History is a relentless master. It has no present, only the past rushing into the future. To try to hold fast is to be swept aside." - John F. Kennedy

2) "I compare it to being in a car accident. There's so much adrenaline rushing through you that you remember being in the accident but you don't remember any of the details." - Brooke Langton

3) "Half our life is spent trying to find something to do with the time we have rushed through life trying to save." - Will Rogers

4) "Most government officials are rushing headlong to solve the problems of 50 years ago, with their ears assailed by the sound of snails whizzing by." - Eric Johnston

5) "Without ... the creative imagination rushing in where bureaucratic angels fear to tread - without this, life is a mockery and a disgrace." - E. F. Schumacher

Leaders know that...

“Being decisive is very important in leadership but making decisions in a rush can quickly result in unnecessary mistakes and disaster that could cost money, resources, and lives!” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

Don't bother. Just train it to attack anyone who screeches, 'YOU DO WORK HERE! i DEMAND TO SPEAK TO YOUR MANAGER!' :)
