I pray for a sufficient increase of the Fruit of the Spirit kindness, gentleness, and self-control for each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who reads this prayer or listens to it dear LORD. Thank YOU, LORD for refilling us daily and hourly as YOU prompt us to demonstrate YOUR fruit and share freely. I expect your involvement with those you lead and those who rely on your judgement and advice is balanced between interacting with them respectfully, allowing them latitude to operate, exercise their viewpoints without prejudice, and speak their minds respectfully and freely. No doubt they appreciate the freedom and latitude and hopefully they act responsibly. ‘May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. LORD use us to comfort the grieving widow, widower, overworked, undernourished and overwhelmed in our midst. Lead us by YOUR grace to help others we intersect with in our daily walk. Open our eyes to those who need encouragement and comfort and guide each of us to whomever YOU know we should encourage, comfort, and/or sit quietly with them and listen to them. The LORD admonishes us that humility and service to others is the higher level of human excellence. In the world system the political lords viewpoint is expectation to be served. In the Biblical worldview, leaders serve with humility and respect to all. ‘rendering service with a good will as to the Lord and not to man, knowing that whatever good anyone does, this he will receive back from the Lord, whether he is a bondservant or is free.’ [Ephesians 6:7-8 ESV]
I pray that each one of us are discerning and wise as the members the Berean church who searched the scriptures [Old Testament] to see what Paul, Apollos, and Timothy were teaching and explaining lined up with God’s Word. When anyone tries to tell us anything that distorts basic Christian doctrine – especially Jehovah’s Witness, LDS, Word of Faith teachers and all others who have a distorted view of God. ‘Now the Bereans were more noble-minded than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if these teachings were true.
