I expect that you have endured much physical adversity in your lifetime and perhaps some verbal adversity as well. No doubt that you are calm and assured in challenging situations. Those types of adversity help to develop character as our soul is refined in the fire. Hopefully, your humility and peace, inspires those you lead and those who rely on you. I hope you understand that our greatest enemy is not flesh and blood. Thankfully God fights on our behalf. ‘For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.’ [Ephesians 6:12 ESV] my brother-in-Christ Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen

I pray for sufficient fruit of the Holy Spirit goodness and gentleness for each and every one of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who reads or listens to this prayer. YOU are the living Word of God and by YOUR grace YOU dwell with the soul of each of us. I thank You for renewing the mind of each of us as YOU transform the soul of each of us into a perfect reflection of YOUR image through YOUR sanctification of each of us. YOU guide us through the storms of life, the pleasant days and each circumstance we experience physically and emotionally. 'Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the LORD, YOU God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.' [Isaiah 43:1-3]

I pray for peace and joy for widows SPC Diana D., Diana Kuzinski, Barbara Reynolds, MSgt Gloria Vance, widowers PO2 (Join to see) CSM Charles Hayden, SGT Mark Anderson MSG Joseph Christofaro, orphans, outcasts of society, the homeless, the recently terminated from employment and those recently evicted from home and/or business. LORD, I am thankful that YOU are the strong advocate for widows, widowers, orphans, and the poor. Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow's cause.' [Isaiah 1:17 ESV]

I pray for peace in the midst of their storms and the ability to sleep peacefully for each of the manic, clinically depressed, wracked with pain, and terminally ill and those who love and care for them tonight, dear LORD. YOU know how much each of us can bear and YOU strengthen us by challenges and testing. 'Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.' [John 14:27 ESV]

I lift individuals suffering from PTSD, TBI, disturbed dreams and sleeplessness, and insanity to YOU LORD as well those who care for them and or rely on them. I pray that YOU bless each with a large measure of peace as they experience the cyclical storms in their minds. YOU are our peace in the storms of life. 'I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. [John 16:33 ESV]

I pray that YOU bless each caretaker and loved one with endurance, grace and insight into how to care those they are charged to care for. I pray for transparency and honest communication for each as they develop and increase trust and transparency for those they care for. ‘There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.’ [1 John 4:18-19 ESV]

I pray that you and your family members slept well Saturday night and each awoke refreshed and healthy on Sunday morning.

Belated thank you my friend and sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown for posting the “Colonel’s” VFV Motivational/Inspirational Quotes & Message of the Day! for Saturday, August 13, 2022

“Ride Day!”
1. I tend to adapt well and in general respond well to adversity in the storms of life
2. By the grace of God, I have often experienced peace in the storms of life.
3. My sense of humor enables me to laugh in the most challenging and dangerous times - even in of to myself so as not to give my position away. :-)

5. I have enjoyed the ups and downs of life and learned by God's grace to be content in each and every siuation.

Quotes:
1. Walt Disney 'All the adversity I’ve had in my life, all my troubles and obstacles, have strengthened me…. but a kick in the teeth may be the best thing in the world for you'
2. Scott Hamilton 'Adversity, and perseverance and all these things can shape you. They can give you a value and a self-esteem that is priceless.'
3. Bryant McGill 'You will not be the same after the storms of life; you will be stronger, wiser and more alive than ever before!'
4. Lord Byron 'Be thou the rainbow in the storms of life. The evening beam that smiles the clouds away, and tints tomorrow with prophetic ray.'

b. Isaiah 21:6-7 ESV 'For thus the Lord said to me: “Go, set a watchman; let him announce what he sees. When he sees riders, horsemen in pairs, riders on donkeys, riders on camels, let him listen diligently, very diligently.”
c. Isaiah 43:1-3 ESV 'Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the LORD, YOU God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.
d. John 16:33 ESV 'I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.'
e. Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 ESV 'For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace'

I expect that you are calm and assured in challenging situations. I hope your confidence is primarily in the LORD and your optimistic attitude prompts those who are close to you to their best. After all the LORD admonishes us to work as though we are working for the LORD HIMSELF. ‘Whatever you do, work at it with your whole being, for the Lord and not for men, because you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as your reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Whoever does wrong will be repaid for his wrong, and there is no favoritism. [Colossians 3: 23-25 ESV] my brother-in-Christ
