On this Independence Day, lest we forget what we have in this Country called America, we must forever thank God for Blessing the USA so I bring you now, Lee Greenwood performing "God Bless the USA"! I wish every single citizen loved and cared about Our Country, as founded 245 years ago after fighting so long for its independence! Let us all Pray for Our Country in these trying times... "God Bless America"!!!
From the Description:
"When "God Bless the USA" was released as a single for the first time, in 1984, it went to No. 7 on the country charts. That same year, the song was played at the Republican National Convention with then-president Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan in attendance -- and as the years have gone on, the tune has become a rallying cry during various times of crisis in America: after the launch of Operation Desert Storm during the Gulf War in 1991, following the 9/11 terrorist attacks in 2001 and more.
I wanted to write it my whole life. When I got to that point, we were doing 300 days a year on the road, and we were on our fourth or fifth album on MCA. I called my producer, and I said, "I have a need to do this." I've always wanted to write a song about America, and I said, "We just need to be more united." "
LYRICS:
Lee Greenwood - "God Bless The USA"
If tomorrow all the things were gone
I'd worked for all my life
And I had to start again
With just my children and my wife
I'd thank my lucky stars
To be living here today
'Cause the flag still stands for freedom
And they can't take that away
And I'm proud to be an American
Where at least I know I'm free
And I won't forget the men who died
Who gave that right to me
And I gladly stand up next to you
And defend her still today
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.
From the lakes of Minnesota
To the hills of Tennessee
Across the plains of Texas
From sea to shining sea
From Detroit down to Houston
And New York to L.A.
Well there's pride in every American heart
And it's time we stand and say
That I'm proud to be an American
Where at least I know I'm free
And I won't forget the men who died
Who gave that right to me
And I gladly stand up next to you
And defend her still today
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.
And I'm proud to be an American
Where at least I know I'm free
And I won't forget the men who died
Who gave that right to me
And I gladly stand up next to you
And defend her still today
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.

This song always gets to me in one way or another. First it's a great song, and second it's a song that the SAC IG always played as the wing was filing in to hear the debrief from their inspection.
