What is your favorite military bugle call to hear?

Everybody who has spent time on a military installation has heard bugle calls - either by an actual bugler or a recorded bugle call. Some calls woke us up [First Call]; accompanied the raising of the National Colors [Reveille]; told us it was time to eat [Mess Call]; announced the retiring of the National Colors [Retreat]; told us to turn to out the lights in squad rooms of old [Tattoo]; told us to go back to our rooms [Call to Quarters]; and go to sleep (Taps) or remember the recently departed.
Many bases, posts, camps and stations only used some of these bugle calls each day; but, a few used many or most - especially West Point in my experience. Those of us who spent time on Parade fields heard Assembly, Attention and Adjutant's Call played many times. I can't remember if a bugle call coincided with the Commander's command to initiate pass in review.

Actually, a few of the members here responded with TAPS but, my favorite version of TAPS is Echo TAPS! The haunting call reminds me of the here and the past as well as future with the All Mighty!

The 184 people who perished from the September 11th attack on the Pentagon were remembered with a memorial dedication Thursday. (Sept. 11)
Thanks for responding, my friend CMDCM Gene Treants and sharing a version of taps with an echo.
I have been stationed a few places where as taps was played there was an echo. First was at West Point where taps was played by a lone bugler by the flag pole near Trophy Point. From my barracks room I could her the distant bugler but not see him because he was on the far side of The Plain.
Taps by the Pentagon was moving when it was played by the River Entrance which overlooks the Potomac River as well as in the inner court when the sound would echo off the walls of the five sided building [outside E-ring]

On Ships, right after Reveille Sounds the word is passed, "REVEILLE, REVEILLE. ALL HANDS HEAVE OUT AND TRICE UP. THE SMOKING LAMP IS LIGHTED IN ALL AUTHORIZED SPACES. NOW REVEILLE!"
Of course I wonder how long the Smoking Lamp will continue to exist, if it still does.

So that's why at jump school the Army was saluting Reveille.....In the Marine Corps, Hoisting Morning Colors is accompanied by "To the Colors"....."Au Couleurs"...To those who know that we got our bugle calls from France (Thank you Laffayette & Rochambeau!)...So that would be my favorite..

There are different versions of the call for many national armies. This is the traditional tune for the Commonwealth Realms, e.g., Britain, Canada, Australia, New Zealand. Although sometimes also played at military ceremonies the 'Rouse', often called 'Short Reveille', is normally used.
