Good morning, Rallypoint. Today's Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) is titled "Perseid Meteors over Slovakia." Tonight marks the peak of the annual Perseid Meteor Shower. The Perseids are associated withe debris from the Comet Swift-Tuttle, and appear to originate from the constellation Perseus (find Cassiopeia first if you need to). The near-full moon tonight might limit what you can see, but there should be a meteor or two to enjoy. The picture today was taken in Slovakia during last year's Perseids.
