Good morning Col Burroughs and Posse. Prayers and thoughts to Every One Deployed this Friday morning.
Weighing you down. If you allow all the negative "noise" around you to get inside you, you will be weighed down. So much of what we carry around psychologically, isn't ours to carry. If you didn't do it and you can't "fix" or change it, let it go. It's not yours. As I've said before, either apply the 2-2-2 rule or put it in the God box, just don't make it part of what you carry. We all have enough that belongs to us without picking up other people's stuff.

I expect that you listen carefully most of the time and think before you speak. I also expect you read what somebody wrote to you and put thought into your reply or comment. Hopefully you and I are becoming better listeners and more compassionate in conversation and life in general 'Whoever restrains his words has knowledge, and he who has a cool spirit is a man of understanding. Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he is deemed intelligent.' [. Proverbs 17:27-28 ESV] my sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.

LORD I lift the trustworthy and noble leaders in government, business, & industry; managers, engineers and designers; entertainers, sports players, and anybody else who interacts with large numbers of people in-person or virtually to YOU. I pray for a significant increase in tact and honesty for each one as they publicly perform their duties. I pray they each pay attention to legitimate questioning and comments and respond respectively. I pray for an increase of confession to trustworthy counselors and mentors and genuine repentance. As it is, I rejoice, not because you were grieved, but because you were grieved into repenting. For you felt a godly grief, so that you suffered no loss through us. For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death. For see what earnestness this godly grief has produced in you, but also what eagerness to clear yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what longing, what zeal, what punishment! At every point you have proved yourselves innocent in the matter.’ [2 Corinthians 7:9-11 ESV]
I pray for grace for each of your adopted sons and daughters who are burdened with memories of past decisions, words spoken, and words left unspoken. I pray that YOU enable each one to confess, seek forgiveness and to repent successfully. 'Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.' [Psalm 55:22 ESV]
I pray for peace, joy, and grace to endure for each homeless family, homeless veterans, widows, widowers, street children and each other person who is in desperate need of trustworthy human companionship and fellowship. I pray that YOU motivate great listeners with time, energy and resources to get in contact with each one and help as best they can. ‘The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. [Lamentations 3:22-23]
I pray that you and your family members are well-rested, healthy and thankful that HE is risen.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

Good “R.E.D Friday!” Morning “Burroughs’ Posse Leader and thank you for your Message for today...

It is: “Weighing You Down Day!” What is weighing you down today?

"You are mistaken, my friend, if you think that a man who is worth anything ought to spend his time weighing up the prospects of life and death. He has only one thing to consider in performing any action - that is, whether he is acting rightly or wrongly, like a good man or a bad one." - Plato

"If you want to be obsessed to be your best, you must get ride of the negative things that are weighing you down." - George Foreman

"We are weighed down, every moment, by the conception and the sensation of Time. And there are but two means of escaping and forgetting this nightmare: pleasure and work. Pleasure consumes us. Work strengthens us. Let us choose." - Charles Baudelaire

As you walk the path of life, remember that...

“As a leader your words can weigh heavily on the people and team, so make sure your words are worth their weight in gold. Choose your words wisely!”— COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

These are perfect for this RED Friday. Leaders tend to forget that they have help, but chose to shoulder the load for way to long. I have also felt this as a follower- trying to make sure when my leadership gives me something I can handle it. Knowing when to reach out for help is the key. We should spend much more time in our mentoring and PME courses focusing on knowing when to say you need help. Good RED Friday RPeeps
