Thank you my friend Sgt (Join to see) for posting the music video of Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Alison Krauss performing Catfish John

Catfish John written by Robert Lee Mc Dill /Alle Reynolds
Lyrics
Mama said: 'Don't go near that river'
'Don't be hanging around old Catfish John'
'Come the morning, I'd always be there'
'Walking in his footsteps in the sweet Delta dawn'.
Born a slave in the town of Vicksburg, traded for a chestnut mare
Lord, he never spoke in anger though his load was hard to bear.
Mama said: 'Don't go near that river'
'Don't be hanging around old Catfish John'
'Come the morning, I'd always be there'
'Walking in his footsteps in the sweet Delta dawn'.
Catfish John was a river hobo who lived and died by the river bed
Thinking back, I still remember I was proud to be his friend.
Mama said: 'Don't go near that river'
'Don't be hanging around old Catfish John'
'Come the morning, I'd always be there'
'Walking in his footsteps in the sweet Delta dawn'.
Let me dream in another morning, to a time so long ago
When the sweet magnolia blossomed, cotton fields as white as snow.
Mama said: 'Don't go near that river'
'Don't be hanging around old Catfish John'
'Come the morning, I'd always be there'
'Walking in his footsteps in the sweet Delta dawn'.
'Come the morning, I'd always be there'
'Walking in his footsteps in the sweet Delta dawn'.

One classic Nitty Gritty Dirt Band song inspires me to post a few more.

Speaking of New Orleans. We went to a SIGGRAPH Conference in New Orleans early 2000 and they were playing music in the new orleans aquarium. They had been hired to play there by the Sponsors as part of our walk-about at night and because of the layout they wanted to pipe it through the whole aquarium with the result that they blew out most of the aquariums in-house speakers. THAT was an expensive night for the somebody!
