Good morning, Rallypoint. Today's Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) is titled "Zodiacal Night." One needs a dark sky location to see zodiacal light (e.g. someplace where city lights and other sources of light pollution aren't a problem). As we can see, a three-hour trek into the Pyrenees (Southern France) does quite nicely. Zodiacal light is sunlight reflecting off dust that circles our Sun in the inner solar system. This dust spreads out from the Sun in the same flat disc of space inhabited by Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars and the other planets. This flat space around the sun – the plane of our solar system – translates on our sky to a narrow pathway traveled by the sun and moon as they journey across our sky. The constellations of the Zodiac are found along this pathway. Hence the term zodiacal light.
What is the best time to see zodiacal light? For both Northern and Southern hemispheres, springtime is the best time to see the zodiacal light in the evening. Autumn is the best time to see it before dawn.

Since God is the author of creation, I think heavenly night makes more sense than "Zodiacal Night"

"Zodiacal light is sunlight reflecting off dust that circles our Sun in the inner solar system.'
Since the definition of zodiacal is "relating to an area of the sky through which the sun, moon, and most of the planets appear to move, divided into twelve equal parts, each with a name and symbol, and each connected with an exact time of year" this name is focuses on astrology not astronomy.

The panoramic view was recorded after three hours of hiking from a vantage looking west after sunset across the Pyrenees in southern France. At 2838 meters altitude, Mont Valier is the tallest peak near center. In the sky above, the familiar stars of Orion and the northern winter Milky Way are approaching the rugged western horizon. At the shoulder of Orion, Betelgeuse is one of three bright yellowish celestial beacons. It forms a triangle with fellow red giant star Aldebaran located below Betelgeuse and to the right, and the red planet Mars. Mars shines just under the band of the Milky Way, still immersed in the bright zodiacal light."
