This is so me! Will respond as soon as I get off this Red Cross call
Five minute break for coffee...Did you know Americans volunteer more than virtually any other country in the world? It is one of the things about our country that make it stand out in a positive way. We're not perfect, but most of us are dedicated to working to make life better for our communities.
Volunteering is a label any of us can wear; so many sizes, options, and variety that no matter what your limitations are you can find one that fits if you so desire. Personally, I get so much more out of what I do than what I give that I can't imagine not being a part of it.

I have no doubt that you have volunteered to lead from the front as a leader of your family, informal groups of friends, and organizations you have been assigned as a leader. I expect that many people have benefited from you volunteering your time, talents, and treasures over the years. No doubt that you have inspired family members, friends, and those you lead to volunteer their help based on your example. I expect you demonstrate moral courage, commitment to those you are responsible for, and setting a good example and you are increasingly walking the talk. ‘Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.’ [Philippians 2:3-4 ESV] my sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown

I pray that YOU bless each adopted son and daughter who reads this prayer with sufficient initiative and endurance and fruit of the Spirit faithfulness, self-control of agape love. I hope that you and I will always take initiative to bless others with our time, talents and treasure in ways that are both appreciated and useful for time and eternity. Let us always remember to treat others as new would like to be treated. I expect you stand up for other people who are susceptible to being taken advantage of. No doubt that you have inspired family members, friends, and those you lead to volunteer their help based on your example. I expect you demonstrate moral courage, commitment to those you are responsible for, and setting a good example and you are increasingly walking the talk. 'Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no account of wrongs. Love takes no pleasure in evil, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. [1 Corinthians 13:4-7 ESV]

I lift volunteer firemen and women, EMT volunteers, volunteers who assist the homeless in soup kitchens and on the streets, volunteers who help rebuild communities after disaster strikes, and volunteers in health care. I pray that YOU bless each one with a large measure of endurance in doing well, an increase of compassion and a large measure of joy in fulfilling their labor of love. I pray that YOU motivate many to thank them. I am sure LORD that YOU will reward these selfless works which demonstrate love in time and eternity. 'In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets.'[ Matthew 7:12]]

I lift up widows [SPC Diana Dobbs, Maj Joan Marine, MSgt Gloria Vance, Diana Kuzinski, Barbara Reynolds, Crystal Von Rosenberg, Teresa Brandon, Peggy Dunlap] widowers [Po2 Jeffrey Goggin, CSM Charles Hayden, Sgt Mark Anderson, LTC D Wayne Gregory, MSGT Dave Hoffman, and MSG Joseph Christofaro] and orphans to YOU LORD. I pray that YOU bless each with spontaneous joy, enduring peace, and ability to sleep peacefully as YOU enable each one to grieve to completion. 'Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.' [James 1:27 ESV]

LORD, I pray that YOUR adopted sons and daughters who are elected or appointed officials understand their purpose implicitly. I pray they demonstrate love across the aisle to their fellow brothers and sister-in-Christ. Let YOUR light shine on fellowship and inspire others to be respectful to those they disagree with. 'Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Outdo yourselves in honoring one another. Do not let your zeal subside; keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, persistent in prayer. Share with the saints who are in need. Practice hospitality.' Romans 12:10-13 ESV

I pray that you and your family members sleep well Tuesday night, and each will awake refreshed and healthy on Wednesday morning.

Thank you my friend and brother-in-Christ Sgt (Join to see) for your diligence in posting our friend, former RallyPoint member emeritus, and brother-in-Christ Colonel Mikel Burroughs VFV Motivational/Inspirational Quotes & Message of the Day for Tuesday, March 7, 2023.

Topic: Volunteer Day!
1. On October 23, 1974 I signed an oath as a volunteer to enlist in the US Army. I had hoped to be deployed to Vietnam and yet by the time I completed my training in March 1975 there was no need to send 12 B combat engineers to southeast Asia.
1. On November 11, 1974 I reported to Fort Leonard Wood for basic combat training [BCT] and I graduated from BCT on January 23, 1975. Then I reported to 12B Combat Engineer AIT and graduated from AIT and had an order to be assigned to A Company 20th Engineer Battalion [Combat] at Fort Campbell.
2. As a USMA 1980 graduate I volunteered to be an infantry officer
3. I have volunteered at churches to be a teacher of pre-school, an usher and a general helper.
4. I asked my darling wife to marry me on October 10, 1999 and she agreed to marry me. We married on December 11, 1999
5. I am descended from many volunteers, my paternal grandfather volunteered for the British Expeditionary Army infantry in 1915 and served in Gallipoli, Turkey and on the Western Front during 1916 and 1917 as British Army Lance Corporal. Sadly all enlisted records from the great war were destroyed in the London fire bombings in the battle of Britain.
6. In 2007 my oldest adopted son volunteered to serve as a US Army infantryman following in my footsteps. On February 29, 2008 I had the honor to slap my son's Ethan's ranger scroll onto his arm as he was inducted into 3rd Battalion 75th ranger Regiment at Fort Benning, Georgia.

Quotes:
1. Simon Sinek 'Leaders volunteer to go first into danger. Their willingness to sacrifice for us is the reason we're inspired to follow.'
2. Stonewall Jackson 'The patriot volunteer, fighting for country and his rights, makes the most reliable soldier on earth.'
3. Julius Caesar 'It is easier to find men who will volunteer to die, than to find those who are willing to endure pain with patience.'
4. Ronald Reagan 'The greatest leader is not necessarily the one who does the greatest things. He is the one that gets the people to do the greatest things.
5. Martin Luther King 'A Genuine leader is not a searcher for consensus, but a molder of consensus'

Scriptures;
a. James 2:14-17 ESV 'What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.'
b. Mathew 22:36-39 ESV ‘“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.
c. Galatians 5:13-14 ESV 'For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For the whole law is fulfilled in one word.'
d. Matthew 5:51 ESV 'If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles'
e. Galatians 6:2-5 ESV 'Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself.'
f. 2 Timothy 2:15-17 ESV ‘Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth. But avoid irreverent babble, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness, and their talk will spread like gangrene.'
g. Romans 12:2-3 ESV ''And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.'
h. 1 Corinthians 13:4-9 ESV 'Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no account of wrongs. Love takes no pleasure in evil, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be restrained; where there is knowledge, it will be dismissed.'
i. James 1:2-4 ESV “Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing
j. Galatians 5:22-24 ESV 'But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law
